Do
you know someone who has been really sick? Wouldn’t it be
great to instantly take their hurt away?
In the Bible
we hear a lot of stories about Jesus healing people! People who
were blind can now see! People who couldn’t walk can now run
and jump! Even people who were dead...Jesus made them come alive
again! Wow! Does anything like that happen today?
Maybe you’ve
prayed for someone, who was sick, to feel better! God loves to know
who you are thinking of and who you care about. He loves and cares
for them too! Sometimes God heals people and they get better! It’s
a miracle!
Maybe you’ve
prayed for someone who was sick and they didn’t get better.
Was God listening to your prayer?

Sometimes
the people we love don’t get better, but that doesn’t
mean God wasn’t listening. God loves them just as much as
he loves you, and He heals them of the worst sickness of all. We
are all sick with the same thing...it’s called sin. It doesn’t
make you cough or sneeze...but it doesn’t make you feel good
either. We sin when we disobey God, and do the things He doesn’t
want us to do.
People from
everywhere came to Jesus so he could heal their loved ones of all
kinds of sickness and disease; and Jesus healed a lot of them. He
did that to show people that He was God! Jesus healed a lot of people,
but what Jesus really came to earth to do was die on the cross and
cure us of our sins! Jesus forgives us for all of our sins, so we
will be with Him forever. What an awesome God! |

I
know I’ve asked this question of God a lot; “why couldn’t
you make them better?” I’m sure you’ve asked a
similar question at one point in your life, and chances are good
that your kids will ask it as well. We don’t know why God
heals some and not others. But we do know that God’s ultimate
purpose is spiritual healing.
Talk as a family
about the importance of praying for people who are sick, and ask
God to heal them. Remind each other that we trust God to do what
is best, even if its hard to understand.
